A major driver for the development of more sustainable energy systems is to reduce the effects of climate change, which can result from an increase in the number of \nThe changes, the intensity of the changes and the duration of extreme climate changes. Among other effects, extreme weather has a significant impact \nIt is on basic infrastructure and is known as one of the main causes of power outages all over the world. In fact, a power outage \ncaused by weather often has a significant impact and lasts a long time, therefore, increasing the flexibility of the network in \nAgainst such events is desirable. In this regard, this article first discusses the effects of climate change on reliability \nand discusses the exploitation of power system components. Since modeling the effect of climate change is a difficult objective, due to \nIts unpredictable and random nature, the existing methods are presented to provide a better understanding of the main modeling methods \nChallenges and prerequisites of assessing the effects of weather on the frequency and duration of blackouts in the power system. Then, the emerging concept \nResilience is discussed in the case of the power system as a critical infrastructure, which includes various protection schemes for \nStrengthening the flexibility of power systems against extreme weather events.<\/p><\/p>\n\n
